16th Street Acupuncture Philosophy
Acupuncture, rooted in traditional East Asian medicine, incorporates bodywork, lifestyle, diet, and exercise. The goal of traditional East Asian medicine is to create balance in our bodies. Disharmony can occur when any aspect of our being is over- or underutilized. Stress, sleep patterns, and other information point to the sources of what we refer to as a person’s “pattern of disharmony.” Understanding the root of the problem helps us treat symptoms with Manhattan acupuncture, bodywork, lifestyle changes (including exercise), new dietary guidelines, and/or herbal therapy.
I believe that personal responsibility for ones’ own health is essential. Personal health is as unique as a fingerprint. As we are taught by East Asian medicine, each of us must find our unique balance as we continue to evolve in our lives. The goal of our journey is to discover and maintain the most healthful point of equilibrium.
Using East Asian medical philosophy, which I continue to study, my mission is to assist individuals who are dedicated to taking steps toward personal enlightenment and power, and using this power to put their lives into balance.

"Live each day in the following way: be strong, be righteous, be cheerful, be humble, abandon avarice, maintain harmonious friendships, and live in gratefulness. Eliminate all wrongful thoughts: eliminate hatred, rage, jealousy, jaundice, envy, anger, dissatisfaction, doubt, disconnect, bewilderment, anxiety, reproach, irritation and restlessness."
